Billing

Plans, limits and add-ons

What each MarvX plan includes, how deploy, AI, RAM, storage and Assistant limits work, add-ons and credit packs, and how upgrades and downgrades take effect.

Billing is per workspace. Only admins and owners can change plans or buy add-ons, on the Billing page. The prices on the Billing and pricing pages are authoritative; list prices are below.

When you hit a limit

The action is refused with a "You've reached a plan limit" dialog (API: HTTP 402, code quota_exceeded) explaining what to do, for example "your Starter plan includes 5 apps — add an app slot or upgrade for more".

LimitWhat's blocked
AppsCreating new projects (and template deploys). Existing apps keep running.
DeploymentsStarting new deployments until next month, unless you have deploy credits
AI analysesNew AI diagnoses, unless you have AI fix credits
Team membersAccepting new invitations
StorageNew uploads
Memory capNot a block: an app using more than its cap is killed (exit code 137) and restarted

RAM usage (GB-hours)

MarvX samples each running app's actual memory use every minute. One GB-hour is 1 GB used for one hour; for example, an app using 512 MB around the clock for 30 days uses about 360 GB-hours.

  • Billing → RAM usage shows this month's GB-hours, a projection to month end and the estimated overage.
  • Owners and admins are emailed at 80% and 100% of the allowance (the Billing alerts preference).
  • Free: overage is never billed; apps are limited by the memory cap instead.
  • Paid plans: usage above the allowance is billed after the month closes, on your next invoice or renewal.

Add-ons and credit packs (paid plans only)

Manage them in Billing → Add-ons.

Add-onPriceType
Extra app$4/month eachRecurring, +1 app
Extra team seat$6/month eachRecurring, +1 member
+10 GB storage$2/month eachRecurring
100 deploys$5One-time credit pack
25 AI fixes$5One-time credit pack
  • Recurring add-ons are added to your subscription. Increases apply immediately; decreases show on the next invoice (on Paystack, at the next renewal). You can't remove app slots or seats you're using: delete apps or members first.
  • Credits never expire and are used only after the monthly allowance is spent. You can buy up to 20 packs at once. Automatic AI analyses don't use credits.
  • Free workspaces must upgrade to buy add-ons.

Upgrading

  1. Billing: pick a plan.
  2. Before the first paid checkout, confirm your billing country. It decides your currency and payment provider; see Payments, invoices and failed payments.
  3. Complete checkout. Higher limits apply as soon as the payment is confirmed. If you already have a card subscription, the plan changes in place and is prorated.

Downgrading and cancelling

  • To Free: your paid plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for ("Active until …"), then the workspace moves to Free. Until then you can click Keep my plan to cancel the downgrade.
  • To a cheaper paid plan: card subscriptions change in place with proration. On Paystack, the change is scheduled for your next renewal.
  • After a downgrade, apps above the new app limit keep running, but you can't create new ones until you're under the limit. The new memory cap applies at each app's next deploy. Move data out if you're above the new storage quota, because uploads will be refused.
