Cron schedules
Run a command inside your app's running container on a cron schedule and check each schedule's last result.
Cron schedules run a shell command inside your app's running container, e.g. cleanup scripts, digests or cache refreshes.
Create one
- Project Schedules tab, under New schedule enter a Name (
daily-cleanup), Cron expression (0 3 * * *) and Command (node scripts/cleanup.js). - Click New schedule. It's enabled immediately.
Each schedule has a switch to pause or enable it and a delete button.
Cron format
Five fields: minute, hour, day of month, month, day of week. Times are UTC. Schedules are checked once a minute, so a run can start up to about a minute late.
| Expression | Runs |
|---|---|
*/15 * * * * | Every 15 minutes |
0 * * * * | Hourly |
0 3 * * * | Daily at 03:00 |
30 6 * * 1 | Mondays at 06:30 |
0 0 1 * * | Monthly, on the 1st |
How it runs
sh -cinside the existing container, with the app's environment variables; no new container.- Skipped if the app is stopped or never deployed. Compose projects use the first service.
- Each run is limited to 5 minutes.
python manage.py clearsessions
php artisan schedule:run
cd /app && npm run taskResults
A last run: ok or last run: error badge shows the latest result (non-zero exit = error). Failed runs show the end of their output under the schedule. Long jobs should be handed to your app's own background worker; heavy jobs share the app's memory cap.
