Getting started
Getting started with MarvX
Create an account, deploy your first app from Git, a Docker image or a template, and find your way around the dashboard.
MarvX builds and runs your apps in containers, gives each an HTTPS address, and adds managed databases, object storage, logs, metrics and an AI build debugger. Everything belongs to a workspace shared with your team. In the dashboard an app is called a project.
1. Sign up
- Open
app.marvx.io/signup. Enter your name, work email, password (8+ characters) and optionally a workspace name, or use GitHub or Google. - Complete the security puzzle, click Create account.
- Onboarding: choose a plan (Free needs no card) and optionally connect GitHub. You can skip GitHub and deploy a template or image.
2. Create a project
- Projects → New project.
- Enter a name (letters, numbers, dashes, up to 63 characters), click Create project.
MarvX queues a deployment as soon as the project exists. With no source yet, it fails with "no git source or image configured". That's expected, but it counts toward your monthly deployments.
3. Add a source and deploy
On the project's General tab:
- Choose a source and click Save in that section:
- Provider: GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Gitea or any Git URL, plus a branch (Connect Git).
- Deploy from Image: e.g.
ghcr.io/acme/api:latest. - Docker Compose: paste a compose file.
- Under Build Type, keep Nixpacks (auto-detect) or pick Dockerfile, Cloud Native Buildpacks or Static site (nginx), then Save.
- Click Deploy and watch the Deployments tab:
queued, thendeploying, thensucceededorfailed.
When it succeeds, the app is live at https://<project-name>-<id>.apps.marvx.io (listed on the Domains tab).
Your server must listen on 0.0.0.0 and the PORT variable (3000 unless you set it). See Ports and health checks.
One-click templates
Templates deploys popular self-hosted apps (n8n, Ghost, Uptime Kuma, Metabase, Gitea and others) with storage and generated secrets. The secrets are shown once after deploying, so copy them.
Finding your way around
Sidebar: Overview, Projects, Templates, Databases, Domains, Deployments, Intelligence (AI diagnosis of failed deploys), Analytics, Logs, Storage (buckets), Team, Billing (plan, usage, add-ons, notifications) and Settings (profile, security, GitHub, Git credentials, registries, personal tokens).
Each project has tabs: General, Environment, Domains, Deployments, AI Debug, Preview Deployments, Schedules, Volume Backups, Logs, Patches, Monitoring and Advanced.
Press Cmd+K (Ctrl+K) to search pages and projects. The plan card in the sidebar shows deployments used this month.
