Configuration
Logs, monitoring and the web terminal
Find build errors and runtime logs, stream and download logs, watch CPU and memory, open a shell in your container, and control the app lifecycle.
Where to look
| You want | Go to |
|---|---|
| Why a build or deploy failed | Project Deployments tab (red error, hover for more); full text on AI Debug |
| What the running app printed | Project Logs tab or the Logs page |
| CPU, memory, status | Project Monitoring tab |
| A shell in the container | Open Terminal on the General tab |
Build output never appears in runtime logs.
Runtime logs
Logs are what your app writes to stdout/stderr, so log to the console, not files.
- Project → Logs: the latest lines (up to 400); Refresh to update.
- Logs page: pick an app; Search logs… filters, Go live streams new lines (Stop live ends it), Download saves a text file.
A crashed container's logs show its last output, usually the error. "No logs yet — deploy your app first" means it hasn't run.
Monitoring
Status, CPU and Memory, refreshed while the container runs, plus CPU — last 24h and Memory — last 24h charts (one sample per minute; they appear after a few minutes). Memory near your plan's cap (Free 512 MB, Starter 1 GB, Pro 2 GB, Enterprise 8 GB) risks an exit-code-137 kill. Analytics shows deployment volume; Billing shows monthly RAM usage.
Web terminal
Open Terminal starts a live shell (bash if present, otherwise sh) in the running container; type exit to leave. Use it to inspect files, run migrations (npx prisma migrate deploy, python manage.py migrate, php artisan migrate) or test connections. Filesystem changes outside volumes are lost on the next deploy. Requires the Developer role and a running app; Compose projects open in the first service.
Lifecycle
- Reload: restart in place (no rebuild, no new settings).
- Deploy / Rebuild: fresh build and deploy.
- Stop: offline until Start; volumes and settings kept.
- Start: refused while a payment is overdue or the workspace is suspended.
Rename or delete the app from the icons beside its name, or Advanced → Delete app.
